About Me.
Hello, my name is Brandon Herrera, and I am a media composer based in Aiken, South Carolina. I began freelance composing back in the summer of 2022, and on top of the regular composing assignments for school, I have had the pleasure of working with 3 indie development teams in which I have written a variety of stylistic and genre specific music.
This is currently my last year attending Berklee's College of Music, and I will have achieved a bachelor's degree for music composition for Film, TV, and Game.

I have always loved music and the visual media field, and there is nothing more exhilarating to me than creating music that brings a story to life. Not only is this a means of a career, but a perfect way to build, grow, and establish lifelong friendships (and partnerships!) to kindly reflect on throughout the years.
My Story, and Fun Details.
I started loving music from a young age. I believe it was around the time my mother remarried and I was exposed to my stepfather's vinyl collection, which is coincidentally where I found my first musical obsession, KISS. From that young age of 8 or so, I found my way to the guitar and began teaching myself. As middle school and high school rolled around, I found myself playing tuba for concert band and marching band - which were honestly some of the best times of my life. #BandGeek.

Towards the end of high school, I found myself playing in bands around my local hometown scene of Virginia Beach, Virginia. There was honestly a lot of joy in weekend road trips to shows out of state and even experiencing a small week-long tour of living the rockstar life! I've retained some bragging rights about opening up for popular bands of the pop punk genre like Hands like House, I The Mighty, Capsize, Our Last Night, and I See Stars. Did I mention my own failed metal band? Towards my downtime away from the bands I played in, I tried starting my own band called Fjaka. I was incredibly inspired by anime at the time and wrote rather conceptual music about the feelings and ideas presented throughout such shows. The project ended up failing but I certainly learned my fair share of leadership!

Now, here is the part about me I have been looking forward to writing... my interests!
I am a nerd at heart, enjoying things such as collecting and reading books, to delving into the writing process of story driven cinematic video games. I'm easily a self-titled couch potato, because there isn't much better than a good movie. I love all things sci-fi, horror, fantasy, and even psychological films! While I can't say I'm into Korean dramas, I do enjoy a lot of eastern action and horror films.
I'll bullet the rest!
-Magic the Gathering is my latest craze.
-Stephen King is my favorite author (and I collect his books, even those with variant covers).
-I'm diving back into collecting and reading comics.
-My favorite protagonists are Spawn, Batman, and Naruto.
-Hit TV shows like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and The Last of Us have been binged!
-Anime music is something I am very interested in writing!
